3rd South Asian Melioidosis Congress (SAMC 2023) is jointly organized by Ibrahim Medical College and BIRDEM General Hospital, Bangladesh Society of Medical Microbiologists (BSMM) & Bangladesh Society of Infectious and Tropical Diseases.

The organism, Burkholderia pseudomallei, which is hiding behind the soil curtain, is responsible for the deadly disease, melioidosis. Many facets of the disease are still entirely unfamiliar to us. The South Asian Melioidosis Congress, being one of the largest events, will allow the huge amalgam of researchers and clinicians from different parts of the world to exchange their fruitful findings and views in order to come to a conclusive decision regarding the diagnosis, management and prevention of melioidosis.
